Ulster singer/songwriter Chris Keys has been selected for the Tipperary song of peace final held at the Excel theatre Tipperary. The competion will take place on Saturday 4th June and is part of the long running ‘Tipperary peace convention’. Keys will be performing his song ‘New day’ as he battles it out against songwriters from all over the world in the chance to win the ‘Tipperary song of peace 2011 crystal trophy’.

“The Wee Wee Man. Songs from the Moon Shed.” is the debut 21-track album from Belfast born songwriter, storyteller, illustrator and poet Randall Stephen Hall. Launched at The Black Box in September 2010, this new CD has enjoyed significant airplay on local radio, especially The Gerry Anderson Show on BBC Radio Ulster. Listeners have responded positively to Hall’s whimsical songs in the Ulster Scots vernacular like “The Wee Wee Man”, “Biscuits”, “Get Your Pig On”, “The Lang Staine” and others. Following on from the success of the Record/CD Fair held at the Oh Yeah Centre back in March, another date has been scheduled at the same venue: Saturday, June 26. (There are still a few tables still available for dealers). The March fair at Oh Yeah was the first to be held in Belfast for 6 years and generated considerable interest.
